Short Soup International Short Film Festival
January 2009
Festival Regulations
Sydney Olympic Park has been staging many national and international performances and exhibitions that comprised its major public arts and cultural programming since Sydney Olympic Games 2000. Short Soup International Short Film Festival is an initiative by SOPA (Sydney Olympic Park Authority) in partnership with Cinewest to present and promote culturally diverse communities in the Western Sydney region by mixing the two essential ingredients ‘Art’ and ‘Culture’ over one-day celebration.
Due to public demands and the amount of works received last year, in the year 2009, the selected films for competition will be presented in front of approximately 10,000 attendees in the ‘Over Flow’ open-air venue at Sydney Olympic Park during movie season and Sydney Annual Arts Festival between the hours of 8.30 and 11.30 pm.
‘Entrée’ will encourage works by amateur, young or first time filmmakers, and ‘Dessert’ will encourage offbeat, experimental and adult concerned themes by filmmakers of all ages. The curator will reserve the right to select the film for various categories other than the one nominated by filmmakers in the entry form.
